Beth Heide, Principal Center High School |
Beth Heide, principal of Center High School in the Center School Distrct 58 (Kansas City, MO), has violated Missouri State Law and school policy by condoning cyber-bullying as well as on-school-property bullying, harrasment and threats of injury. Anti-bullying and anti-harassment policies (see below under "References") which are in place, are ignored and unenforced. While undetectable in this image of Heide, her nose grows a little longer every time she speaks.
Case in point: Dec. 10, 2010 at a CHS basketball game, the bully not only announced loud enough for anyone within range to here, her intentions to attack the student with her "gang." A female student sitting between her and the bully-victim's mother told the bully that "his mother is sitting right here, shhhsh." The bully stated in the parent's presence "f*ck that b*tch, I'll f*ck her up too!" The parent immediately reported these threats to school security, who summoned principal Heide. Heide told the threat victim's mother that she would "decide on Monday morning if the bully would remain on the basketball team. On Monday, the bully attempted to make good on her cyber-threats posted on Facebook on Sunday evening Dec. 12, 2010 against this student, Heide did a complete one-eighty. When asked by the parent what action would be taken against the bully - suspension? Call police? Suspended from the basketball team? Heide repLIED, "I have no knowledge of her playing basketball."
Heide and her homophobic assistant, Joe Gunderson (whose image is not readily available online but no doubt casts no reflection in a mirror or shadow on a wall), will be charged with child abuse and endangering the welfare of a child for their failing to act on the documented and eye-witnessed bullying of a very bright and popular student. This student is not only the victim of cyber-bullying and school property bullying, but also a victim of hate crimes that have occurred on and off school property.
Beth Heide and Joe Gunderson are not educators, they are BULLIES and co-conspirators in crimes against children in their care at Center High School.
Be prepared to watch Heide's nose grow every time she opens her mouth. She and the homophobic Gunderson are back-peddling furiously in a desperate attempt to reverse and deny statements they cannot take back. Thus far, assistant superintendent Leone and superintendent Dr. Barton, are both on board, backing their employees who have failed to implement and enforce school policy and Missouri State Law which clearly states ALL public schools in the State of Missouri are required by law to report bullying to the police.
For clarity's sake, it is worth mentioning some important dynamics in this case. The student who is being bullied is a sophomore who identifies as a gay youth. The bully (whose picture I will not post because she is, afterall, a minor) is female basketball player. Given the consensus of students polled, this bully isn't even a very good basketball player, so we're still at a loss as to the impetus for the administration to sweep her crimes and policy violations under the rug. If i were inclined to violate the civil rights of a child and post her picture here, you'd readily see that this bully is clearly struggling with not only her sexual identity, but her gender identity. Some months ago, she attended a birthday party of a fellow student. When the mother asked her son to describe this female student and was then reminded of who this was - she stated, "i thought THAT was a boy! Are you sure we're talking about the same child?" The son replied, "yes, she was the only one with dreads at the party, mom." So here we have a female, complete with an overload of testosterone resulting in a moustache and elvis-like sideburns, targetting a gay fellow student. Probably not the best way to get in touch with her own identity.
No doubt this young person who may be either a hermaphrodite or a future transgendered adult, is struggling with her own issues and is incensed that an out gay popular fellow student would be so comfortable in his skin and accepted by peers and teachers alike. However, that is an issue for which her parents need to seek guidance.
If you are a parent of a Center School District 58 student, or have plans to register your child[ren] in this district, think again. Complaints have been submitted to the federal government against the CSD 58. Do not expect these schools to receive federal funding in the upcoming year. The lawsuits alone will bankrupt this district. All because of one lunatic bully whose conduct should have been addressed long ago. Child abuse and endangerment convictions will ensure that neither Heide nor Gunderson will be permitted to work in any capacity where children are involved.

(Missouri’s bill revises the state’s harassment and stalking statutes and requires school officials to report any crimes of harassment or stalking committed on school property to the police. The language used to define harassment and stalking is not student-specific, so Missouri is not included in Table 2.)
Prohibits using electronic or any other means of communication to knowingly “frighten, intimidate, or cause emotional distress to another person,” making “repeated unwanted communication to another person” or using unwanted or offensive communication that “puts [a] person in reasonable apprehension of offensive physical contact or harm.”
160.775. 1. Every district shall adopt an anti-bullying policy by September 1, 2007.
2. "Bullying" means intimidation or harassment that causes a reasonable student to fear for his or her physical safety or property. Bullying may consist of physical actions, including gestures, or oral or written communication, and any threat of retaliation for reporting of such acts.
3. Each district's anti-bullying policy shall be founded on the assumption that all students need a safe learning environment. Policies shall treat students equally and shall not contain specific lists of protected classes of students who are to receive special treatment. Policies may include age appropriate differences for schools based on the grade levels at the school. Each such policy shall contain a statement of the consequences of bullying.
4. Each district's anti-bullying policy shall require district employees to report any instance of bullying of which the employee has firsthand knowledge. The district policy shall address training of employees in the requirements of the district policy.
